Most Valuable 2024 Panini Prizm Football Cards

With a reputation as one of the hobby's most desirable football card sets, the 2024 Panini Prizm football set certainly lives up to the brand's reputation.

From inserts to parallels to autographs and more, one thing's for sure:

collectors will find lots of great-looking cards to enjoy.

Even the base set has several big cards worth chasing.

As always, there's a mix of solid veterans and highly-touted rookies.

But the 2024 rookie class seems stronger than usual.

Several rookie quarterbacks are the big draws, but multiple other skill-position rookies round out a strong batch of rookies.

Overall, 2024 Panini Prizm boasts a modern, sleek design with a solid checklist.

And in this guide, we look at the 15 most valuable.

Let's jump right in!

2024 Panini Prizm #347 Jayden Daniels Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $130

The renaissance of the Washington Commanders franchise wasn't just a one-player thing.

It took a whole culture shift after embattled former owner Daniel Snyder sold the team in the summer of 2023.

However, one draft selection jump-started the process and pushed the team's timeline ahead by at least a year or two.

Selected second overall out of LSU in the 2024 Draft, quarterback Jayden Daniels outperformed #1 pick Caleb Williams (Chicago) and the rest of the class to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Williams was the overwhelming pick, capturing 48 of a possible 49 first-place votes.

A dual-threat elite athlete with the leadership qualities of a veteran, Williams carried the Commanders to the team's best record (12-5) since 1991 and second playoff appearance in a decade (2020).

The 24-year-old also won Washington's first playoff game since the 2006 Wild Card Game and set a new rookie QB record with 891 rushing yards (on just 148 attempts).

2024 Panini Prizm #301 Caleb Williams Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $110

Washington QB Jayden Daniels won the battle of the top picks in 2024, outperforming #1 selection Caleb Williams en route to a playoff berth and NFL ORotY award.

That's not to say that the Chicago Bears quarterback didn't impress.

Williams had much less to work with in terms of roster construction, and the team's Swiss cheese offensive line did him no favors.

Williams was sacked a league-worst 68 times for 466 yards.

Some of it had to do with delays in route processing.

However, most of it fell on an O-line that struggled to stand up.

Starting RB D'Andre Swift had a down year, rushing for only 3.8 yards per carry.

That left a lot for Williams to create with his legs and arms.

Despite everything, he did a solid job.

Williams, a top-ten finisher for ORotY, completed 62.5% of his passes for the 5-12 Bears.

He amassed 3,541 passing yards with 20 touchdowns against an impressive six interceptions and tacked on 489 rushing yards to top 4,000 combined yards.

2024 Panini Prizm #329 Drake Maye Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $80

The New England Patriots didn't get much out of a dismal 4-13 campaign in 2024.

However, what they did get may set them up for a much better future.

Selected third overall out of the University of North Carolina, 6-foot-4 quarterback Drake Maye was part of a three-headed QB special at the top of the Draft.

Picked moments after Caleb Williams was selected by Chicago and Jayden Daniels headed to D.C., Maye inherited a rebuilding Pats squad still looking for its identity post-Tom Brady.

Maye sat behind veteran QB Jacoby Brissett for the first month but came in to start the final twelve games of the regular season.

The 22-year-old finished 3-9 in those contests, but the former Tar Heel played encouraging ball as the losses piled up.

Named to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement for Baltimore star Lamar Jackson, Maye completed 66.6% of his throws for 2,276 yards with 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.

He also set a Pats rookie record with eight consecutive contests with a TD throw.

2024 Panini Prizm #400 J.J. McCarthy Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $80

If not for a brutal season-ending injury suffered by J.J. McCarthy, Sam Darnold likely wouldn't have gotten his bag in the offseason.

The Minnesota Vikings spent the tenth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft on McCarthy, the Michigan Wolverines quarterback, coming off a historic championship season in Ann Arbor.

The plans seemed clear.

If the season went sideways, the Vikings would roll with McCarthy and use Darnold as insurance.

Instead, McCarthy went down with a torn meniscus in Minnesota's preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The kid's season was done on the spot, and Darnold was thrust into the spotlight as the team's starting quarterback.

Darnold overshot expectations big-time, earning Pro Bowl honors and leading the Vikings to a 14-3 record.

In doing so, he earned himself the biggest payday of his career – a three-year, $100.5 million pact to replace Geno Smith in Seattle.

2024 Panini Prizm #309 Bo Nix Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $75

Bo Nix was the most polarizing quarterback prospect on the 2024 NFL Draft big board.

His detractors pointed out several perceived deficiencies, including that 30% of his passes during his 2023 season at Oregon were thrown behind the line of scrimmage.

When the Broncos selected Nix 12th overall, very few thought he'd end up being the second-most accomplished rookie quarterback of the class.

But that's just what we got.

Nix galvanized a Broncos squad coming off its eighth postseason miss in a row.

With a big hand from a stifling, third-ranked scoring defense, Nix defied expectations and lifted Denver to ten wins and a playoff berth.

Finishing third for NFL Offensive Rookie-of-the-Year, seven spots ahead of #1 overall pick Caleb Williams, Nix completed 66.3% of his passes for 3,775 yards with 29 touchdowns against 11 interceptions.

Only Washington QB Jayden Daniels and Las Vegas TE Brock Bowers finished ahead of him in the voting.

2024 Panini Prizm #231 Jalen Hurts

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $50

The Philadelphia Eagles have two Super Bowl championships in the case, both coming in the past seven years.

Both Super MVPs, Nick Foles and Jalen Hurts, were often the target of drive-time criticism for their faults and former failures.

Foles shut his critics up with a masterstroke against the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, going from backup to big time in a 41-33 win.

Hurts did the same after the 2024 season.

In contrast to Foles, the 26-year-old Oklahoma product is the unquestioned starter and has been for the past four years.

Despite his successes, including finishing a heartbeat away from a Super Bowl LVII triumph, Hurts has been the target of talk show hosts and armchair quarterbacks since taking over the job.

None of that matters after his brilliant Super Bowl MVP performance against Kansas City.

Hurts dismantled the Kansas City secondary, hitting cruise control late in a 40-22 smackdown of the two-time defending champs.

2024 Panini Prizm #315 Brock Bowers Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $50

The 2024 Las Vegas Raiders' passing attack was hamstrung by inconsistent-to-very-poor play by quarterbacks Gardner Minshew II, Aiden O'Connell, and Desmond Ridder.

The trio went just 4-13 under center, costing Antonio Pierce his head coaching job.

Under new head coach Pete Carroll and with former Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowler Geno Smith now in the huddle, the Raiders looked revamped and ready for a potential playoff push in 2025.

Smith doesn't have a deep skill-position pool to work with in Vegas, but he does have the best young tight end in the game.

Picked 13th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Georgia, Brock Bowers immediately joined WR Jakobi Meyers as the two best offensive threats in an otherwise lackluster unit.

Bowers was the favorite target of all three Raiders QBs and set rookie records for overall receptions (112), receptions by a first-year tight end, and receiving yards by a first-year TE (1,194).

The First-Team All-Pro is the third rookie tight end to eclipse 1,000 yards.

2024 Panini Prizm #55 Joe Burrow

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $45

The fate of the 2024 Cincinnati Bengals seemed to rest on the rehabbed right wrist of quarterback Joe Burrow.

The truth was that the team's underwhelming and injury-riddled defense cost them a playoff berth.

Cincy fell short of preseason expectations in '24, finishing 9-8 for the second consecutive year.

The team's 25th-ranked defense was the culprit, forcing Burrow to work from behind for large chunks of the season.

To his credit, Burrow put on a breathtaking aerial show in response.

Joining Chad Pennington as the only two players to be named NFL Comeback Player of the Year on multiple occasions, the 28-year-old led all NFL passers in completions (460), attempts (652), yards (4,918), and touchdowns (43).

Once again, his partnership with Ja'Marr Chase was unmatched.

Chase led all receivers in receptions (127), yards (1,708), and TDs (17), with every last number coming off the booming right arm (and recovering wrist) of Burrow.

2024 Panini Prizm #370 Malik Nabers Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $45

The New York Giants spent 2024 circling the drain, cycling in multiple quarterbacks, and struggling to find much to hang their hat on.

New York finished 3-14 on the year, a worse record than their dysfunctional stadium co-tenants, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

If there was one shining light over New Jersey in ’24, it was the play of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Selected 6th overall out of LSU in the preceding Draft, it often felt like Nabers was the only real offensive weapon on the team.

Nabers set a rookie wide receiving record with 109 receptions and barely missed on the overall rookie record to fellow first-year standout Brock Bowers.

He set the overall and rookie franchise records for receptions, bypassing Steve Smith for the former.

The 21-year-old did all of this while acclimating to the pro game and a carousel of four different QBs in the huddle.

2024 Panini Prizm #370 Malik Nabers Rookie Card

2024 Panini Prizm #378 Michael Penix Jr. Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $45

The Atlanta Falcons mortgaged the house on Kirk Cousins, inking the veteran quarterback to a four-year, $180 million deal before the 2024 NFL season.

The thinking was clear. After posting seven wins in five of the previous six seasons and only four in the other, Atlanta was desperate to return to relevance.

It seemed like the perfect recipe to lift Atlanta to the top of a seemingly mediocre NFC South.

It didn't go as planned.

Coming off an Achilles injury, Cousins looked slow and struggled to acclimate to the team's high-speed offensive philosophy.

By the end of the year, the four-time Pro Bowler was a high-paid backup, and Michael Penix Jr. was thrust into the starting role.

Penix did enough to earn him the nod for 2025, completing 58.1% of his passes for 775 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

His athleticism was apparent even if the numbers were slight, and now the Falcons find themselves in an awkward spot with Cousins asking out.

2024 Panini Prizm #378 Michael Penix Jr. Rookie Card

2024 Panini Prizm #314 Brian Thomas Jr. Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $35

The Jacksonville Jaguars' 2024 season was a repeat of the same story over and over again.

Jacksonville gets a monster game out of rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., making fantasy owners worldwide happy.

Fantasy fans are the only ones who seemed to get the wins, though, as the rest of the Jags stumbled to a 4-13 finish.

Thomas did everything he could to squeeze a win or two more.

Named to the Pro Bowl and finishing fourth for NFL Offensive Rookie-of-the-Year, the LSU product set franchise records for the most receiving touchdowns (10) and yards (1,282) by a Jacksonville rookie.

He set both records in a 32-25 Week 14 home loss to the New York Jets.

For his historic day, he was given a game ball and promptly handed it over to his mother.

"My mom and dad were both here today," Thomas said after the game. "We had a talk about it. She's been wanting me to give her one."

2024 Panini Prizm #138 Patrick Mahomes

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $30

The Kansas City Chiefs got to where no other team has been: within a Super Bowl win of a three-peat.

Kansas City ultimately lost to an inspired Eagles squad, 40-22, in Super Bowl LIX, an 18-point loss that was much more lopsided than the score indicates.

It was a deflating end to the team's back-to-back-to-back championship dreams, but it doesn't erase just how resilient they were to get there.

On the arm of future Hall-of-Famer Patrick Mahomes and on the back of the fourth-ranked scoring defense in the NFL, the Chiefs streaked to a 15-2 record and a 9th consecutive AFC West title.

Mahomes went 15-1 in his 16 starts, completing a career-high 67.5% of his passes for 3,928 yards with 26 touchdowns against 11 interceptions.

Mahomes' sparking regular-season record wasn't easy to obtain.

In fact, it was as hard as it's ever been for this Chiefs dynasty.

Kansas City played a boatload of close games, requiring Mahomes to orchestrate NFL highs in game-winning drives (7) and 4th-quarter comebacks (5) to secure the AFC's top seed.

2024 Panini Prizm #365 Ladd McConkey Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $30

Overlooked in a deep, wide-receiving draft class in '24, second-round pick Ladd McConkey forced the greater football world to notice him with a first-year breakout.

The former Georgia standout was an immediate fit with Justin Herbert, emerging as his favorite target in Los Angeles' march to eleven wins and a playoff berth.

McConkey set franchise rookie records for receptions (82) and receiving yards (1,149).

He ended the campaign with ten consecutive games of 50 receiving yards or more, a first for an NFL rookie.

Even when the Chargers were in a no-win situation, McConkey stepped forward to breathe some life into things.

Los Angeles looked overmatched throughout a 32-12 Wild Card Round loss to Houston.

Much of that fell on Herbert, who threw four picks to a greedy Texans D.

When Herbert could find a receiver's hands, McConkey did the damage.

The 23-year-old caught nine of his QB's fourteen completed passes and set a new record for receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game with 197.

2024 Panini Prizm #365 Ladd McConkey Rookie Card

2024 Panini Prizm #375 Marvin Harrison Jr. Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $30

The bar was set exceedingly high for Arizona Cardinals rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The son of one of the greatest wide receivers of all time, Harrison Jr. was pegged by many for over 1,100 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns in year one.

He was one of the most sought-after fantasy players before the season and seemed like a good bet for NFL Offensive Rookie-of-the-Year.

The fourth overall pick of the 2024 Draft undershot those lofty expectations by a fair amount.

He was outperformed by several other first-year pass catchers and did not register a vote for NFL ORotY.

Still, it was a very good year and among the best the franchise has ever seen from a first-year wideout.

Besides Anquan Boldin's blistering 101-catch debut in 2003, Harrison's year has no franchise parallel.

He played in all 17 games for the Cards (starting 16), catching 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns.

2024 Panini Prizm #375 Marvin Harrison Jr. Rookie Card

2024 Panini Prizm #316 Bucky Irving Rookie Card

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $25

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reimagined themselves in 2024, retooling their offensive approach to highly productive results.

After finishing dead last in the NFL in rushing yards the year before, the Bucs invested a fourth-round pick in former Minnesota/Oregon running back Bucky Irving.

Tampa Bay's brass saw Irving as a strong complement to starter Rachaad White, who could take some of the pressure off while adding plenty on his own.

Tampa Bay got more than they could have hoped.

Despite starting just three of the team's seventeen regular season games and placing 19th in the league in rushing attempts, Irving placed tenth in the league in rushing yards (1,122).

He became the first Tampa rookie since Doug Martin in 2012 to eclipse 1,000 on the ground.

Irving added 392 receiving yards for the NFC South champs to eclipse 1,500 yards from scrimmage (1,514), over 500 yards more than White and franchise icon Mike Evans.

2024 Panini Prizm Football Cards In Review

As you can see, the rookie class really carries this set--especially the quarterbacks.

Not only did some of these guys pan out as full-time starters, some of them helped lead their teams to the playoffs during their first years under center.

That's impressive.

And some of the other guys, like Brock Bowers and Malik Nabers, set new NFL and team rookie records.

It was objectively one of the most productive rookie classes in recent memory.

And that should bode well for this set over the longterm if these guys can stay playing at such high levels.

Unopened Box of 2024 Panini Prizm Football Cards

As for the inserts, I particularly like the "Fireworks" and "Portals" designs as well as the short-print inserts like "Aurora" and "Prizmania."

I am particularly fond of the "Prizmania" inserts as the big-head caricatures of the players bring back memories of the 1991 Score baseball set that depicted players in the All-Stars subset with big heads.

It was kind of strange seeing players back then shown with a comically oversized head.

But it somehow worked then.

And it still does on the "Prizmania" inserts in this set.

Of course, the numerous serial-numbered parallels and autographs remain among the biggest attractions.

Overall, 2024 Panini Prizm football cards deliver exactly what you'd expect from the brand and, as I mentioned, if the rookie class holds up over time, then so should this set.
